FAQ - Can I leave my email going through another provider?
Solution Yes, you can.

If the DNS entries for the domain name are controlled by us, just let us know where you'd like the mail to go and we'll change the MX records. The cautions about website forms below apply to this situation also.

If the other provider controls the DNS entries for your domain name and you want it to stay that way, you'll need to have the other provider point the 'A' record for the domain name to our IP address. This will direct all web traffic to our server, and leave the mail going through the other provider. Please remember to notify us prior to altering the DNS records. We will need to make changes to the MX record on our server and other details, so that any mail sent from a form on your website (or other users on the same server) will be redirected to the other provider's mail server. We'll need to know the IP address of that mail server.

Please bear in mind that any subdomains for the website will need to be set on the other provider's DNS record - ours will not be the controlling DNS record.

Also, please DO NOT recreate the DNS record or the account without notifying us, or mail problems may result.

NOTE - you will need to use a local domain as recipient for any forms on the site (due to security measures we take against spam). The best way to do this is to create a forwarder on another locally-hosted domain, forwarding to the main email address. Please contact us if you need help with this.
